DEMOCRAT TAJ CLAYTON OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCES HIS CANDIDACY FOR US CONGRESS, TX-30

Dallas, Texas – Democrat Taj Clayton officially filed paperwork to launch his candidacy for United States Congress in Texas’s 30th District.

Clayton kicked off his campaign saying, “Our community represents the greatest untapped resource in Texas. I’m running to make sure we reach our full potential. For too long, people have been talking about lifting up our community, but we face the same problems year after year. We don’t have any more time for talking. We need better jobs, better schools and safer streets today. We need a fresh start to make things happen right now through new ideas, a new approach, and a new direction. There’s no time to waste.”

The son of former glass factory workers, Clayton worked his way through Harvard College where he graduated with Honors. He went on to receive his law degree from Harvard Law School. Today, he practices law at Fish & Richardson in downtown Dallas where he specializes in commercial litigation. Clayton has been recognized as a “Rising Star” by Texas Super Lawyers magazine.

Taj Clayton and his wife of eleven years, Tonika, live in DeSoto with their two young daughters, Daisha and Raiya.

Last week, the Dallas Morning News reported that Clayton hired Jason Stanford as his general consultant. Stanford has consulted for more than two dozen members of Congress across the country.
